Fighting for people over profits
Our campaign for an ethical iPhone has reached a fever pitch – news outlet after news outlet is covering this issue, we’re about to top 90,000 signatures on our petition, and next Thursday, we are going to hand deliver those petitions to Apple’s CEO at their shareholder meeting.
If you live near Apple’s campus, where the Annual General Meeting is taking place, then we need you to join us outside next Thursday to rally in support of an ethical iPhone.
Thursday, February 23rd at 9-10:30am
Apple Campus, Main Entrance

Apple is getting the message that their consumers want an ethical iPhone. However, instead of making changes with their contractors, they are playing PR games with workers’ lives.
We think that the workers making the iPhones deserve more than an iSweatshop to work in, and now we need to show Apple our concern directly by rallying outside their shareholder meeting. Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook is under pressure to make sure it goes off without a hitch.
SumOfUs will be there in Cupertino at the meeting. We’ll be inside asking questions about the working conditions at Foxconn and Apple’s relationship with the Fair Labor Association (the industry-funded “independent agency” tasked with investigating working conditions). And, we will be outside demanding that Apple do the right thing.
As the richest corporation in the world, Apple has the ability to change the manufacturing sector as much as iTunes changed music delivery. Or, they could do nothing and profit while workers die of exhaustion or preventable explosions.
Without your voice and your pressure, Apple will take the easy way out and do nothing.
Together, we can push Apple to take the sweat out of their iPhones. We need you to join us on Thursday at 9am.
